Mayor Dan Hughes

Service as Mayor
Dan Hughes became Henderson County's Mayor in September 2010. He’d served as a County Commission Member from 1990-2006 before winning the County election for Mayor in 2010.

Professional History
Before entering public service, Hughes worked as a broadcaster for 27 years for Lexington's WZLT, Freed Hardeman University, and as the voice of the Lexington Tigers. He is still a partner of the Tennessee Sports Radio.

Educational History
Hughes is a native of McMinnville, TN, and graduated from Warren County High School. The Hughes' have lived in Lexington for over 30 years. Married to Cheryl since 1975, they have two children: Melanie Atchison and Ronnie Hughes. They are also blessed with three grandchildren: Kylie Atchison, Jade Hughes, and Jack Hughes.
