Henderson County covers 526 square miles of beautiful West Tennessee and was founded in 1821 and named after James Henderson, a soldier in The War of 1812. We are nestled just off Interstate 40 halfway between Memphis and Nashville, making us an ideal place to live, work, and raise a family. Henderson County is home to the cities of Lexington, Parkers Crossroads, Scotts Hill and Sardis; each one offering second to none services and diverse enrichment opportunities for our residents and visitors.

Our county is rich in history and offers some of the best recreational opportunities in our state with our seven lakes and Tennessee's largest state park, Natchez Trace---an outdoorsman's dream come true. Our school systems consistently maintain high performing academics and provide ample opportunities for growth for our future leaders. Duties of the Mayor

• Assuring that all County services are delivered to the citizens of Henderson County in an effective, efficient, and equitable manner and in compliances with County Commission policy

• Overseeing long-range planning and improvement of departmental management and service delivery

• Serving as a catalyst for developing community-wide goals and mobilizing the resources to attain them

• Serving as the primary outreach arm of the County government to other counties and other government entities
