Finance Department
About Us
The Henderson County Department of Finance was created under the Financial Management Act of 1981 (TCA § 5-21-101:129). The Department of Finance is charged with administering the finances of all funds of the various departments, agencies, and boards which are handled by the County Trustee (TCA § 5-21-103). The Department of Finance is responsible for purchasing, accounting, budgeting, payroll, cash management, and all other such financial matters of the County.
Purchasing Services
The Finance Office is responsible for handling the purchase of goods and services for all departments of the County Government and County School System that include:
- Taking bid orders
- Ordering supplies and services
- Contracting for services
- Paying for orders
COUNTY BUDGET
The County budget is prepared by the Finance Office and approved by the County Commission. The goal of the County budget is to evaluate and direct County departments, helping them make successful decisions in resource allocation, program evaluations, financial management, and long-range planning.
