The Register of Deeds is a constitutional office established by the Tennessee state legislature as the custodian of legal documents pertaining to real property. These documents include Warranty Deeds, Deeds of Trust, Releases, Powers of Attorney, Liens, Plats, Amendments and other miscellaneous documents designated by state law to be recorded by the Register of Deeds. These documents are recorded and stored in several safe sites.
Our goal is to provide the best service possible to assist you with all these documents. We can make copies of all documents on record or e-mail them at your request. Please fell free to contact my Chief Deputy Laurie Flanagan or myself at anytime with any question and we will help you in every way possible within our powers. Be advised though, the Register of Deeds office is prohibited from performing title searches, searching for liens, interpreting or rendering opinions on the content of recorded documents. Also, this is a public records office and all things on record are viewable by anyone at their request, except military discharge without proper I.D.
