The purpose of the Solid Waste Department is to promote and oversee the collection and disposal of the County's waste products.

Convenience Center Locations and Hours

While we strive to maintain regular operating hours to serve the citizens of Henderson County, unexpected circumstances do occur and may require us to temporarily adjust convenience center hours with little to no notice. We try to minimize these closures by coordinating our container swaps with Waste Management on a regular basis so as to not overfill any one center, but again, these situations are out of our control. We understand that this is frustrating for our customers and we sincerely apologize for those instances when they occur and can assure you we are working to get the center reopened as soon possible!

If your center is closed, you are always welcome to go to the next closest center or stop by the Main Center at 264 Mig Drive in Lexington.
